In user research on Direct messaging, creators found messaging editing highly intriguing. Some gen pop users felt the same. Additional Messenger user research showed editing as the most appealing feature tested (out of 24 features presented), and was useful for fixing typos without the need to send additional messages. Current editing hacks included 1) using an asterisk or 2) unsending and resending messages.
